Yehuda Atai was born in Tel Aviv and grew up in Givatayim, younger son of Deborah and Eliezer Kirshenbaum, a brother from two older sisters. As a child growing religious secular neighborhood traditional working-class family. Graduated from elementary religious 'faith' in Givatayim, Municipal High School graduate religious (HaRoeh) Ramat Gan, members of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. At the end of high school left the Jewish religion Hrbnit-amonit.
Served in the army as an officer in Battalion 890 of the [[Paratroopers Brigade (mm, deputy company commander and company commander in the regular army).
